Webinaire | Implementing an Art and Play-Based Psychological First Aid for War-Affected Children from Gaza Living in Montreal: A Feasibility and Acceptability Study

7 octobre 2026 à 12 h 00 - 13 h 00

About this session

Presented by: Sewar Elejla (McGill University)

This webinar presents a proposed feasibility and acceptability study examining the implementation of an art – and play-based – Psychological First Aid (PFA) intervention for war-affected Gazan children currently residing in Montreal.

Grounded in trauma-informed and culturally responsive frameworks, the intervention aims to provide a structured, low-resource, and developmentally appropriate approach to early psychosocial support during resettlement.

Particular attention will be given to the developmental vulnerabilities of children and adolescents exposed to cumulative trauma, as well as the structural barriers to mental health access faced by families navigating temporary legal status in Quebec.
